The Full Story
About
Hello! I’m the heart behind Guiding Light Behavioral and Learning Advancements, LLC, and my journey has been shaped by a lifelong love for children and their unique, joyful perspectives on the world. From the spark of excitement in a child’s eyes when they learn something new to the challenges they face, I’ve dedicated my career to helping young learners thrive.
A Passion for Education
My love for children led me to pursue a career in elementary education, where I spent 15 years teaching, primarily in first grade. Watching students struggle to learn to read inspired me to earn my first Master’s degree in Reading Education, becoming a reading specialist. I found immense joy in helping children unlock the joy of reading, building their confidence one word at a time.
A Personal Connection to Behavioral Therapy
Life took a meaningful turn when I met my husband and became a stepmom to his son, who has autism. Living through the day-to-day life of a nonspeaking child has deepened my understanding of their unique needs and strengthened my commitment to helping them find their voice through therapy. This personal connection opened my eyes to the transformative power of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. Driven to make a difference, I returned to school to earn my Master’s in ABA. Over the past six years, I’ve worked in the clinical setting, witnessing firsthand how ABA can change lives by fostering growth and independence.
Building Guiding Light
Recently, I took a leap of faith to focus on my family and to pursue a dream: combining my expertise in education and ABA to create Guiding Light Behavioral and Learning Advancements, LLC. This business reflects my passion for working in schools, teaching children, and using behavioral therapy to empower young learners. Whether I’m providing one-on-one reading interventions to build missing skills or collaborating with teachers to address classroom behavior challenges, my goal is to offer practical, impactful solutions.

Mission
As an educational consultant, teacher, reading specialist, and ABA practitioner, I bring a unique perspective to my work. I understand the realities of classroom dynamics, the power of tailored interventions, and the daily joys and challenges of supporting a child with autism as a stepmom. At Guiding Light, I strive to bridge these worlds, creating realistic, teacher-friendly strategies and life-changing support for children and families.
Living My Passion
My work is more than a career—it’s a reflection of my life. I live fully immersed in my passion, balancing my roles as a mom, an educator, and an advocate for children’s growth. Whether I’m helping a child discover the joy of reading or using ABA to unlock new possibilities, I’m committed to making a lasting difference, one child at a time.
Thank you for visiting Guiding Light Behavioral and Learning Advancements, LLC. I’m excited to partner with families, educators, and schools to shine a light on every child’s potential!
